Navigating heterodominant spaces is inherently problematic for the publicly queer body. The queer bodily is constantly exotified by spectators who subscribe to heteronormative expressions of corporeal presentation. To the normative voyeur, the queer body and its blatantly queer presentation are foreign and menacing, threatening to upend culturally reified expressions of presentation.
